The Jungle Book ★★★★

My ratings for The Jungle Book and Pete's Dragon seem to be the reverse of most, with the former getting mostly positive marks on Letterboxd, and this film getting panned. Maybe an unfair comparison, considering the $110 million dollar rift between their budgets, but The Jungle Book gets a huge amount of it's budget on to the screen, and creates an immersive world, and an impressive sense of space and scale, Favreau expertly moving us through a digitally created world. When Disney's art department is firing on all cylinders, it's really something to behold.
