    This finally is available for streaming. I hadn’t seen it in decades but had held it up as a shining example of a terrible movie based on that memory. So I rewatched it to see if my opinion would change or if my memory was charmingly exaggerated.

    No on both counts! This is a terrible, no good, awful movie. There is nothing redeemable about it, nor is there anything to satisfy the tired “so bad it’s good” line. It’s just awful.

    While the film is far from perfect, there’s an energy and charisma that radiates from its stars - especially the inimitable Bruce Lee - that keeps you glued to the screen. The music, the choreography, the go-for-broke James Bond-ness of it all culminates in a whole that is far beyond the sum of its parts.

    It’s a touch slow at parts, and the VFX undermine the action at points. But it’s a supremely fresh take on the Marvel template, written smartly and with a fully realized and believable fictional culture. The score is phenomenal. Overall worth the hype.

Delightful scene-stealing characters, solid art direction, bold effects work, and slick plot contrivances  make you forgiving of a very uneven start.
