kesseljunkie’s review published on Letterboxd:
Star Wars came out in 1977. So did Sorcerer and Annie Hall.
And so did Moonshine County Express, a delightfully cheesy hillbilly exploitation flick. The colors are faded, the exposure was wrong, and William Conrad is giving a bravura performance full of thunder.
A coworker recommended this to me because of our shared affection for this sort of movie. This is old-school cheap Saturday afternoon fare, later exiled to UHF stations and now preserved forever digitally.
I want to be clear that it’s not high art. Heck, it’s not art at all. But it is fun and worth a watch.
