Kevflix And Chill’s review published on Letterboxd:
The opening sequence is one of the greatest of all-time. Indy’s quest for the Golden Idol is only 12 minutes or so, but it is packed with iconic moments that have shaped modern cinema. From the Paramount logo fading into an actual mountain peak introducing the setting of the story, the swapping of the golden idol with a bag of sand, the boulder chase scene and sliding under the closing door—this opening completely draws you in and and lets you know exactly what kind of adventure you’re about to be embark on.
Then later in the movie you’re treated with one of the greatest chase scenes in movie history, with Indy on horseback chasing after the convoy transporting the Ark. ‘Raiders’ was a groundbreaking movie in its time and it is as enjoyable to watch today as it was when I was a child.
