Kevin Burns’s review published on Letterboxd:
Rather than a superhero movie, Elektra envisions itself as a Crouching-Tiger-style martial arts opera, ultimately failing for the same reasons so many English-language martial arts movies fail: Hollywood stars aren't trained as fighters, action sequences lean heavily on questionable CGI, and "Asian" mysticism sounds particularly hokey when not subtitled.
Like its predecessor, Garner's star vehicle is largely humorless. Daredevil however, was at least ambitious enough to risk looking silly. Under Rob Bowman's steady hand, Elektra feels painfully conservative - a collection of cliches, mediocre action sequences, and the occasional muddled good idea.
