    Dead Poets Society

The last 25 minutes of this movie are as good as dramatic film gets for me. Young Ethan Hawke’s work is astounding in every frame he walks into. Pathos drips from every corner of that kid’s face.

Despite its easy loftiness, this is one of my favorite movies—a formative one that I will cherish forever.

This movie is a stone cold masterpiece. I credit the editing and screenwriting above all else, even though every piece of casting and performance is perfect. Bennett Miller has only impressed me here as a director honestly. I hope he does again one day.

Or 1 star. At one point or another this movie is every star.

Watching Logan Lucky, the lackluster return to the movie theater for Steven Soderbergh, who "retired" a couple years back, I couldn't help but think of the moronic charisma of characters created by Joel and Ethan Coen, most notably those in Raising Arizona. These thoughts also serve to illustrate just how wrong this production was in casting an array of actors who can't seem to get on the same page with their total bullshit "Southern" accents.

    The world of this movie…
