9 years ago I had a crush on a girl named Dawson and Dawson's two favorite bands were Talking Heads and...Kings of Leon(!!) I spent a few months listening to nothing but these two equally excellent bands that are the same in every way. Before then my only experience with TH was the forgotten 2000 Nicolas Cage movie The Family Man which uses Once In A Lifetime in the trailer. When David Byrne sings "This is not my beautiful house! This is not my beautiful wife!" well that's EXACTLY what Nicolas Cage is thinking in that movie!!
I really really liked them before but WATCHING the goofy joy of Talking Heads visually clicked their music in the place for me forever. They're simply loser nerds! Just kidding, they rule and I love how much they smile! :) Also this was very unexpectedly moving. Sometimes when I see someone's energy I think to myself "oh that's probably what I would do in that situation". I was texting my friend Demi throughout and sharing the experience, he loves this movie so much and I love him. No point in watching this stuff if we're not sharing it with one another, that's why we do letterboxd.com for pete's sake!
Dawson and I recently caught up, she just got engaged and told me that OF COURSE her father daughter dance song at the wedding is gonna be This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody). A perfect concert film, five stars!
