A geek cinephile who’s currently learning to write a good film review and enhance his knowledge in this industry. So, HI!
I’m always a fan of musical/drama kind of films, but I guess this one is off the hook. Good starter, good premises, really hook me up with this dialogue “A world without The Beatles is a world that’s infinitely worse”, but I guess that’s only it. Lily James is outstanding, as per usual. Sound design is somewhat awful, can’t even hear Ed’s voices on the phone. Spotted some plot holes that is redeemed by jumping into conclusions that means nothing.…
At first it gives me an awe. Terrific performance from Amy Adams and Gary Oldman were un-questionable. Enjoyed every single beautiful shots captured and designed. Apparently the last part was pretty off and I don’t think it’s a good way to end a movie. But I must say, it is well crafted, but maybe not well written.
Just what I was expecting from Charlie Kaufman. A journey to a cerebral dark love story. Using 3:4 to emphasize one’s minded-perspective. A bit Yorgos kinda feeling in the end. Successfully makes me wonder what it was all about and the book itself. It reminds me that I’m still an uncultured swine.
