Practically a whole season of an incredibly expensive television show jammed into one movie. The moments that are meant to leaven the noise, like the detour to Hawkeye’s imaginary family, are absurd and dull. Whedon seems barely able to manage the scope of it, leaning more heavily on his trademark sardonic dialogue than ever to acknowledge that the whole affair is bloated and, worse, not very fun.
