Rewatched with my daughter. There’s about twenty or thirty minutes of decent movie in here, though I can’t remember exactly when they happened amidst the sprawl of connected universe nonsense. In fairness, this is a pretty faithful if literal-minded translation of contemporary comic book storytelling sensibilities; it’s just a big mess of incomplete plot lines and flashes of two-dimensional character development that the viewer gets thrown into haphazardly. Also, I still find the film’s willingness to play mass death for essentially cheap thrills to be a bit tasteless.
