Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not really a runaway success by any means, but there’s a lot of good stuff here. At a time when the super-hero competition was all intergalactic holocausts and extradimensional warfare, scoping this flick on basically a circus-like gangland dispute is at least a relief. Some of the performers are great, including Margot Robbie, of course, and Ella Jay Basco, but not including the usually very compelling Ewan Macgregor, who is all thumbs here as a stand-in for the Joker who never really clicks. It could’ve been better, it’s true, but it’s still so much more interesting than so much of what was coming out of the Marvel factory line, then or now.
