Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
The plot is nothing remarkable but all the details that gild it are terrific: the slices of Black life in postwar LA, the remarkably resonant racial divisions, the architecture of the other side of town. Washington is phenomenal and so is Cheadle; Beals doesn’t get a lot to do but she’s fully believable in her role. It’s pretty sad and infuriating that this didn’t do well and never got a sequel.
