It’s a hoot to see Lee Van Cliff play the goof for a change. He pulls it off well, suggesting a range that rarely got tapped. The appeal of this movie is really the rapport between his character and Jim Brown’s, a Black man who’s the lead of this movie for no other reasons than he’s the most charismatic, watchable actor on the screen.
