Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s worth comparing this to the far less interesting "Midnight Special." Both try to root superhuman ability in a delicate, unpretentious narrative. But "Fast Color" is brave enough to be specific about its characters' pains and struggles. The concept and setup are fascinating, and the leads are mesmerizing. But it gets hokey in the final act, and I never quite believed the scripted relationship between Mbatha-Raw’s character and the young Saniyya Sidney's character.
