Here come the waterworks.
A bit disappointing after “Ladybird” but there’s more than enough good stuff here to make it worthwhile. Gerwig made it harder on herself with some miscasting; Chalamet is insufferable, and Pugh in particular can’t hold her own whenever Ronan is onscreen. Of the latter: she’s a force of nature.
