Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
I wanted to like this more than I did, partly because I sort of assumed it would be more fun than it was. Setting aside its unmistakably 2020s, low-budget, chintzy CG look, the plot is just too cute, too full of tear baiting setups and unearned emotional catharsis. It’s true that Lesley Manville is incredibly winning in the lead role, and it’s her performance that makes it all as watchable as it is. It’s too bad the script does her no favors.
