Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
What is this movie about? Neighbors, security and trust, I guess? I'm not even sure, but it's transfixing to watch. Mendonça has a way of making the mundane bizarre, and the bizarre mundane—both fueled by a stylistic willingness to cut away from key scenes before they reach the culminations a Hollywood film might drive towards. It's mesmerizing, though whether it's truly substantive or not remains unclear.
