I'd heard this was a slog but it was surprisingly engaging throughout most of its runtime. Kosinski certainly has a knack for bringing beautiful visuals to life, and his mash-up of "Wall-E," "Moon," and "Planet of the Apes" has its merits, even if it's never truly distinctive. He also gets carried away with the sterling, antiseptic nature of the main characters' penthouse in the sky, which is pretty nonsensical, all things considered. Unfortunately the climactic face-off also fails to rise above standard sci-fi clichés, which overall lets more air out of the tire than the run-up promises.
