This was…unexpected. Its setup seems clearly in the mold of contemporary revenge thrillers, à la “John Wick,” but it's very much not that. I thought it was mostly riveting, though at times it threatens to turn too sentimental and indie-precious. Lands somewhere between three-and-a-half and four stars.
