Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
The opening scene, with Riz Ahmed behind his drum kit, waiting for the song to roll around to his drum part, was arresting and could have been an amazing short of its own. But immediately afterwards the movie threatens to become a less beguiling, “Green Room”-style tour diary and it nearly lost me. Very quickly though, when it dives into the firsthand experience of the main character coming to grips with hearing loss, I was hooked. And not just by the sound design; the emotional honesty of the protagonist’s journey is gripping and uncompromising and something I hadn’t experienced before.
