Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
There are proportionately fewer jokes here than in Ianucci’s other work but this film is still richly satirical. The historical setting significantly benefits his sensibilities though. Where “The Thick of It” and “Veep” felt creaky every time they encroached on reality, “The Death of Stalin” feels confident and unflinching when it comes to rendering the blackly comic consequences of its characters. You may not laugh quite as much but you’ll feel much more.
