Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
Maybe the best costume drama of the last decade? Except it’s really a riotous comedy and a political satire and a cutting historical allegory too. It’s actually unambiguously contemporary on top of it all, and somehow without being self consciously, obnoxiously anachronistic. This is just the oddest, most unusual period movie in recent memory, fully its own vision, and illuminated by three razor sharp performances.
