Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
Impeccably made, ambitious documentary that widens the aperture on the under-examined history—both the athletic and the societal history—of Black baseball. It’s beautiful to look at it too, full of richly detailed historical photography and handsome contemporary graphics, but at times it’s so dutiful to its subject matter that its momentum feels impeded. Nevertheless it’s an important and valuable contribution.
