This is as good a demonstration as any of the idea that humans aren't actually interested in hearing new stories at all. There's absolutely nothing in "Mighty Ducks" that would've been new in 1992, and yet somehow it spawned a franchise, as if the world were just sitting around waiting for a rendition of the same old story about a rag tag team of underdog sports ballers somehow overcoming adversity thanks to a coach who has lost his way, just dressed up in truly unsightly Nineties fashions. It wasn't the first of its kind and it won't be the last, I guess.
