Khoi Vinh’s review published on Letterboxd:
Apparently Friedkin only wanted to one-up his car chase from “The French Connection,” because that’s all he really seems to care about here. Everything else is satire-level macho posturing with little of the nuance, or smarts, that made Popeye Doyle and company so compelling. Added a half-star for how hard everyone goes in on being totally 80s.
