I’m not sure I can think of another movie where the title song is better known than the movie itself. Certainly there’s not another example where if that’s the case then the movie itself is actually pretty good and probably underrated too. The animation here is a feast of visual invention, and the plot, if not exactly brilliant, successfully rides its groove for the duration. The version available for rent now has been restored too, and the music sounds terrific; not just the songs—which of course, are amazing—but the quality of the mix is wonderful too.
