    Long Shot

    ★★★

Okay, I was skeptical that I'd enjoy this, Seth Rogan playing his (comedic) self again!
But I was quite enjoying it at times, the intro annoyed me, but I percevered and discovered some nice moral messages that I'd agree are important in this world and especially now!

I'm not sure that I'll ever see it again, it feels a bit too forced for me to enjoy many times!

Probably a one time deal but it has 3 stars for having messages that I consider important and some funny moments and moments where I did feel some chemistry!

  • Pokémon Detective Pikachu

    Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Some may like this not seeing that its basic conventional writing, some may know it and be able to let it go!
For me it's a big let down, the start surprised me, the second and third act felt utterly underwhelming for me!
The lazy writing, everything seems to go down hill for me, it's meant to be meeting our human world and the fantasy Pokémon world but for me there are too many discrepancies for me to believe the…

  • Oh, Ramona!

    Oh, Ramona!

    ★★½

Pretty stupid but somehow I found it mostly very entertaining, laughed! But some of it was cringe! I think this had some good elements!

  • Memoirs of an Invisible Man

    Memoirs of an Invisible Man

i love some of the effects in this movie, thats for me the best thing about it. i remember possibly liking some other elements too

  • Velvet Buzzsaw

    Velvet Buzzsaw

One of the worst films I’ve ever seen!
I’m sorry that was biased of me, it’s bad, erm, there are ideas here but everything to me feels misjudged, misguided, it feels like it wants to be a critique on the art world but in my opinion absolutely fails at this, the script, the pace, the acting, everything feels out of place to me! Like why?
Why Jake why? Why are you people in this?
I’d like to know what happened, it seems like there must be an explanation for how terrible it is!

  • Birdboy

    Birdboy

    ★★★★

I prefer this short to the feature, I’d like the feature to have had more of some of the relationships, it seems to hurry past some of them!
Also in a way I prefer the flat imagery of this short, the feature has more watercolour

  • Birdboy: The Forgotten Children

    Birdboy: The Forgotten Children

    ★★★½

I loved some of it, some of it was just too much for me!
Something about the pacing and succession of events didn’t feel quite right to me!

    Loved the crazy metaphorical imagery!

  • The Tourist

    The Tourist

    ★★½

I think I’d prefer if it didn’t have the twist, a bit of well made fun light romantic crime thriller!
But in retrospect there’s thing that gets me about the plot and makes it even more annoying!

  • Seven Psychopaths

    Seven Psychopaths

    ★★★★

It got a little nasty and wasn’t sure if I’d like it! But after watching it all, it has heart, intrigue, clever dialogue, some moments I found really funny, loved the meta elements!

I was able to deal with the violence because of the mix of empathy/heart and clever plot and dialogue!

  • The Perfection

    The Perfection

    ★★½

Has some good ideas, the plot surprised me, but it seemed a mess! I can see how some like it!
I noticed some editing/continuity mistakes early on, among other issues!

  • Booksmart

    Booksmart

    ★★½

    Meh!

Same thing I’ve seen before many times, some good parts, quick to make everything into a gag!

I’ve seen Eigth Grade and Lady Bird and am happy with them!

For me this film didn’t push it far enough, wasn’t courageous enough in its comedy or drama, nor raw enough either, over the top but almost quite enough characters!

Some love this, that’s fine, I can see some reasons why!

  • Us

    Us

    ★★★½

This film had a lot of potential, I feel the script, performances, cinematography, among other little things, have let this down!
    For me at least!
I would have loved some smoother transitions, some more careful creepy visuals, some deeper characters, I mean they are okay, but I almost never felt I’m let into their world!

I saw Hard Eight the same day, if Us had taken as much care on character, performance, cinematography, just in general the quality and artistry…
