Waititi brings his humor, but none of his heart, and the movie ends up feeling utterly uninspired compared to his other works. In the end it’s just another Marvel movie. Sure it’s fun, but the same theme park ride gets tedious after the tenth go around.
12-year-old me would have giggled at Kingsman: The Golden Circle and moved on. I still ate up the action in this movie, as well as it’s juvenile world-logic. I was not, however, laughing at its unabashed misogyny. No amount of suitcase machine guns or robot dogs will make up for the way this movie treats women.
