Ehhhh, I think the best part of the movie was probably the interrogation scene, which had some really great moments of showcasing some really good detective work, but I just didn’t feel very interested in the characters for this. Honestly, was expecting a little more from this but it was alright. Sadly the ending ruined the whole film for me, which just felt awful. It’s best element is having some great action scenes and a good sense of humor, but the animation often strikes me as being strange at times. I noticed that the character animations of people walking often looked cheap and odd.

I give great credit to this film for using characters who are barely ever used…

Honestly, this movie was pretty weak. I didn’t find the twist to be that shocking or well thought out and the kills were borderline stupid. I don’t really know what I was expecting in terms of “urban legends” but all of these really really sucked. Most of them were just very silly convoluted scenarios that the movie takes advantage of.

These Resident Evil movies just get more and more absurd as they keep going on. I will give Retribution at least this positive note: It’s got some of the best fight choreography of the entire film series. The ending fight sequence is what helps improve this movie in standing out, featuring Alice vs Jill Valentine in a really good battle and Michelle Rodriguez doing some cool fighting against Leon and Luther.
