  • The Big Chill

    The Big Chill

    ★★½

It’s hard to rate this one. Mainly because there was a lot that could have been done for this film, but it just totally felt lacking and pointless. I’m not sure why any of this mattered but it was honestly just a bunch of horny coked up people reminiscing about their hippie days and fucking each other. The cast is pretty good and there’s times when the characters are engaging and interesting, but it sort of felt like a big…

  • Titan A.E.

    Titan A.E.

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I was really back and forth with my opinion when watching Titan A.E. There’s some moments of good animation and cool world building in the beginning, but as the film progresses, it only seems to take a dip in quality for me. There’s some really weird angles and sometimes the animated characters look like they’re on green screens. There were a few times where the voices didn’t look properly synced or very strange when they spoke. I think the story…

  • Speed 2: Cruise Control

    Speed 2: Cruise Control

    ★★½

Was this a bad movie? Not entirely. I liked the plot, the setting and the villain, but what kept this from being any better for me was the lack of Keanu Reeves. Jason Patric and Sandra Bullock really have no chemistry with one another, a far cry from Reeves and Bullock’s chemistry in Speed. There’s some rather lengthy moments in the film that causes scenes to drag out more than they should, which causes the film to run for about…

  • The Arena

    The Arena

    ★★½

The Arena’s beginning first half is basically fetish porn for slavery and captivity, which is ultimately disguised by the entire gladiator approach. Far too many times do they single out the whole rape fantasy theme within the first thirty minutes, which mostly put me off for a while until things started to heat up for the story after we get past the first thirty minutes of it. The film is not put together very well and I do admire the…

  • Belle

    Belle

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I can’t believe it, but I’m incredibly disappointed in this movie. I went into this, having been excited from seeing the trailer and was blown away by the wonderful music and gorgeous animation. Unfortunately, that’s all this movie was able to offer me. I kept a strong and positive mindset, but still this movie just didn’t do it for me. I think it was the ending which really killed it for me and had me lower my rating from a…

  • MouseHunt

    MouseHunt

    ★★½

The slapstick in this movie is quite fun and the scenes with Christopher Walken as the exterminator are golden. There’s far too much CGI in this, however, which just looks absolutely awful and the complete ridiculous moments of the film keep it held back from being greater than it actually is. It takes a while to get into, but once the mouse is introduced, that’s where the film really picks up.

There’s some very funny things written for the film,…

  • Nancy Drew

    Nancy Drew

    ★★½

Really really stupid for a mystery film and totally predictable. As far as children’s films go, it’s okay, but this movie had some poor writing and acting. Tate Donovan and Josh Flitter were excruciatingly terrible in terms of acting and their characters had the worst writing. Emma Roberts was perfectly wonderful as Nancy Drew, who did have a few hiccups with common sense to solving certain predictable questions, but overall she was quite comical in being a parody.

    The film’s…

  • Murder by Numbers

    Murder by Numbers

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Ehhhh, I think the best part of the movie was probably the interrogation scene, which had some really great moments of showcasing some really good detective work, but I just didn’t feel very interested in the characters for this. Ryan Gosling was probably best character because of the way he played him, but Bullock, Chaplin and Pitt’s characters felt a bit disappointing. All of them were done with some fine acting, but Chaplin’s character felt a bit boring to me,…

  • The Adam Project

    The Adam Project

    ★★½

I don’t know, this was just one of those movies where if you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen the movie. It was pretty boring other than Ryan Reynolds keeping the humor somewhat amusing. He’s always had a very charming personality and made silly stupid jokes, but I just felt it wasn’t enough to keep this afloat.

Zoe Saldaña and Jennifer Garner felt underused in this; especially Saldaña who’s barely in it. Mark Ruffalo is okay, but I thought he was…

  • Batman: Soul of the Dragon

    Batman: Soul of the Dragon

    ★★½

Honestly, was expecting a little more from this but it was alright. Sadly the ending ruined the whole film for me, which just felt awful. It’s best element is having some great action scenes and a good sense of humor, but the animation often strikes me as being strange at times. I noticed that the character animations of people walking often looked cheap and odd.

I give great credit to this film for using characters who are barely ever used…

  • Urban Legend

    Urban Legend

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Honestly, this movie was pretty weak. I didn’t find the twist to be that shocking or well thought out and the kills were borderline stupid. I don’t really know what I was expecting in terms of “urban legends” but all of these really really sucked. Most of them were just very silly convoluted scenarios that the movie takes advantage of.

I will say that the film’s biggest plus was casting Rebecca Gayheart as the psychotic killer, because her performance was…

  • Resident Evil: Retribution

    Resident Evil: Retribution

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

These Resident Evil movies just get more and more absurd as they keep going on. I will give Retribution at least this positive note: It’s got some of the best fight choreography of the entire film series. The ending fight sequence is what helps improve this movie in standing out, featuring Alice vs Jill Valentine in a really good battle and Michelle Rodriguez doing some cool fighting against Leon and Luther.

I really hate the fact they brought Michelle Rodriguez…
