Brundle Fly’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bill Paxton's completely unhinged high voltage energy and unpredictability, elevate what's otherwise an above average vampire melodrama, to a level that makes this a somewhat unique entry into the subgenre. And to that, I'd be remiss not to mention the most exceptional part of Near Dark. A moment that keeps clawing it's way back to the front of my mind. I'm talking about that bar scene.
Holy moly - chilling stuff.
Kathryn Bigelow directed the hell out of this, giving us the opportunity to see each member of the worst traveling band, stretch their fangs. Say what you want about the rest of the film, it's at least worth watching for that sequence alone.
