Tons of fun. Rian Johnson’s mystery comedy has one of the smartest screenplays of the year. Not to spoil anything, because honestly it’s such fun to watch, but Johnson makes a very smart move early on that makes the film that much more exciting. The characters are so in the dark about it all, and watching them go back and forth and just be volatile about everything is just phenomenal. The performances across the board are godly, from Daniel Craig’s brilliant accent to Ana De Armas’ innocent and empathetic eyes, grounding the film everywhere. Chris Evans plays a delightful asshole. Knives Out is some of the most fun I’ve had at the movies all year.
