I Saw the Devil

I Saw the Devil ★★★

How come Korea's contemporary cinema is so good at pushing barriers to a point Hollywood can only dream of? This is a fierce story about revenge and evil, maybe one thing leading to the other as if in a messy cicle. The director, who is the same of the already classic "A Talenof Two Sisters", spared no blood in depicting the grotesque relationship between a pride devilish murderer and a revengeful widow of one of his victims. And all leading to an end that proves violence should be an end in itself.
