Harakiri 1962
A perfect example of storytelling. The plot unfolds beautifully and slowly, in a way which I can't say I've seen before. The cinematography is flawless (as is usually the case in Samurai films of the era), some of the most gorgeous photography going around. Not only in the meticulous framing and staging but also in the graceful camera movement. A criminally under-seen masterpiece.
