Black & White Version
"As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?"
It's the little things in this film that make me love it. Drifting over the son's eyes after he's seen someone killed. A quick cut to the crazy preacher lady's look of horror after her mob gets too out of hand. These little moments of humanity complement the bigger outbursts of rage, horror, shock, shame, and hysteria.
Nihilism on film.
