A little haphazard at times, but great footage new and old, with some emotional healing. Cool band, and I was in at the right time with ‘Dear You’ in the late 90s in high school. Blake’s Jets to Brazil album ‘Perfecting Loneliness’ is damn near perfection too. Fun to watch if you were once a punk or like going Behind the Music for any band.
Scorsese is a badass, and even the early work has beautiful moments of nostalgia, drama and charm. While there is plot, the time and place of each scene is not always done in a way that concretely sets the audience expectation or moves the story forward. But we still know what’s up, and we get killer acting performances by the likes of Keitel and De Niro. My favorite scene is the mad party at the bar with the perfect SnorriCam…
