Scavenger Hunt 53
It’s honestly a travesty that Green Book won best picture, and this didn’t even get nominated. It’s powerful, emotional, funny, and actually tackles current race relations in a meaningful way. It’s themes are so nuanced; it’s a film where you actually have to think for yourself and develop your own interpretation, unlike Green Book and many other Oscar nominated films that simply express that racism is bad. Yes of course, racism is horrible, and Blindspotting definitely expresses this, but in a complex way. It challenges the notions of its audience and demands thought. It may be a little hackneyed in its delivery, but this is in an important film and something everyone should watch.
