We were gonna watch Ratatouille again for family movie night, then my wife made one of the most regrettable suggestions imaginable…
What resulted was a bellyflop into an utterly bizarre universe, which was almost unwatchable with crude humor that I can’t imagine lands with any audience. The third act was stronger, but, they really made like 4 of these? I’d prefer a super cut of the old chevron ads.
This was not at all what I was expecting. It was much more contained than a western named after a river, no sweeping vistas or grand adventures. I realize how unfair it is to hold this against a perfectly fine movie that was engaging and fun, but it doesn’t feel like it has as much canonical footing as westerns I hold in higher esteem.
