Jake Taylor’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie was everything I wanted a Han Solo movie to be. A swashbuckling adventure with wisecracks and romance, free of the cumbersome drive to save the universe.
The movie is fast paced and well edited; the movie felt good the whole way through and never had a moment that dragged. Although the plot and action sequences were a bit over the top, it felt right for this franchise.
The best thing about this movie is its characters - each one is larger than life and none of them seem to take themselves seriously. This provides plenty of latitude for banter and some really fun gags. Phoebe Waller-Bridge steals the show as the L3, a droid fighting for droid equality. Because... of course.
This is a perfect summer movie, great for star wars fans, non-fans, kids, and kids at heart.
