Is 'The Godfather: Part II' better than the original?
I wake up in cold sweats every night and ask myself this question, I compare every aspect and it drives me nuts. "The original has Brando, duh obvious choice, but what about Bob De Niro in Part: II? goddammit." I am speaking to my self for hours, and those hours turn in to days. I realise its been 3 days since I last ate and I'm slowly losing consciousness and with my dying breath I say... John Cazale.
John Cazale is the key to getting to the bottom of this debate, Fredo is the ace in Francis Ford Coppola's pocket. He has some good moments in 'The Godfather' but wasn't a massive part of it, but in Part II John Cazale takes over. I was scared for my life when he yelled "I'm not dumb, I'm shmart, and I want respect!", I thought he was going to jump out of my screen and strangle me.
And for that reason, I can confidently say... I still have no idea which one is better.
