    This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    This film is a pure cinematic experience. The stills are beautiful (just like old photographs) and the format totally serves the isolated atmosphere the director wants to emit.

    The film messes with your mind from the beginning to the end. Do not expect answers regarding certain incidents taking place, such as "Is this real?", "Is this taking place in the past, the present, or the future?"; besides, the director himself admitted that the film is open to various interpretations.

    A boy finds a man, a man finds a boy and though they don't know each other well, they very soon become a family. The way the two of them communicate is really touching; most of the time they manage to do it without words, surrounded by beautiful cinematography.

    I don't want to comment on any potentially problematic approaches regarding certain socio-political issues the film attempts to address, as they have been thoroughly discussed already. To be honest, I was worried about such issues even before I watch it, especially after people described it as "masterpiece", "the best film of the year" etc.

    However, the way Joaquin Phoenix moves around dancing is mesmerising, as well as somewhat poetic and I can't stop feeling this urge to dance with him.
