    ★★★½

A strange and solemn film about the loosening binds of a relationship and an attempt to tie back up what's no longer there. Reminds me of Junji Ito's Uzumaki in some ways with its obsession and attention to detail to ropes in our lives (as opposed to spirals in Uzumaki's case) both physically and symbolically except without Ito's grotesqueness and replacing morbidness with melancholy. A little rough but a captivating entry in Iwai's catalogue nonetheless.
