Very few films toe such a fine line between plodding and a pleasant meander like this one. There were times I felt the pace should pick up and other times I found the mellow flow to be downright soothing.
I found "Under the Silver Lake" to be an interesting and stylish portrait of Hollywood party culture. The presentation is a strong suit. I also enjoyed the handful of unexpected, visceral scenes involving a few different animals. Those ones along with jarring, violent scenes, contrasted well with the slow pace in creating unforgettable moments.
The storyline was absolutely unique and came to some satisfying points, however, I found myself a little disappointed that I may have come away with more questions than answers.
