Letterboxd — Your life in film

If they opened up the aspect ratio to 2.00:1 it would look exactly like a modern day streaming series. And like so much IP streaming content, it's not bad but completely forgettable. Bulma and Yamcha deserve a shout out for attempting to bring some of the original Dragon Ball spirit into this. Wait. Chow Yun Fat is in this? Just saw his name in the credits...

You don't see on location shooting like this anymore

Leaving stars alone cause that 4 stars for the '87 cut still stands. Just watched the early 90s cut and that gets at least a whole star deducted

Not a great movie but Cage and Pascal's chemistry keep it entertaining

Some sections work way better than others but this is a milestone in animation

I'm a sucker for 80's anime so I adore the art and animation. The story is just there to pad out the precious few action sequences.
