A horror movie centered around Youtube influencers sounded good but sadly the film does nothing interesting. The film is deeply shallow and only flirts with online-video culture/worship but lazily weaves it into its laughably cliched plot. CAM is probably the closet film to tap into this topic which is still ripe to be utilized within the genre. Disappointing.
Im always cautious about over hyped movies and even more so when they are meta slashers. Cabin in the Woods, Final Girls all really clever entries so what new things can YMBTK bring to the table? Despite some on the nose references the film does manage to be interesting and for the most part fun. The fragmented timeline is also a nice touch. I actually kind of wished that the awesome twist wasn't spoiled not only in the title but pretty early on in the film. Overall I enjoyed it but its not without its flaws.
