100 MOVIES IN ONE SUMMER 2020: MOVIE #10
The best thing about Dazed and Confused, as well as Richard Linklater’s movies in general, is their feeling of aimlessness. Dazed and Confused has no real plot or protagonists or antagonists, it just has a bunch of high schoolers having fun on their last day of school, and that’s all it really needs. Despite it’s aimlessness, the movie doesn’t have a single dull moment, and it manages to be both engaging and relaxed at the same time. Dazed and Confused is addictively fun and energetic, and it’s probably the best high school movie ever.
I’m really jealous that these guys got to spend their last day of school drinking beer and getting high together instead of joining a Google Hangouts meeting and taking a nap.
