100 FILMS IN ONE SUMMER - FILM #91
Do you know why so many people consider Seven Samurai to be the best action movie ever made?
Because it is.
There isn’t a single scene or aspect of this 207 minute long movie that falls flat. Every part of this movie is perfect, from the acting, to the amazing action, to the pacing, to the cinematography, to the writing, and everything else. Kikuchiyo is one of the most entertaining characters ever, and this is one of the most entertaining movies ever.
Also, can we acknowledge the fact that A Bug’s Life is a beat-for-beat ripoff of this?
