Think of it as "Life is Beautiful if You Let the Right One In" with a thimbleful of Wes Anderson's idiosyncrasy. Waititi does seem to be as innocent as his one-note characters, for better or worse. He made Hitler a crybaby and therefore we are supposed to laugh, right?
