Hungkat’s review published on Letterboxd:
"But it’s better to have a bitter happiness than a gray, dull life."
As a result of working in radioactive zones, several people involved in the production, including Tarkovsky and his wife, died a slow death from cancer. However, there’s a saying “every gift involves a sacrifice” and so this is the most precious gift Tarkovsky and his crew have left behind for us. Therefore, it doesn’t matter whether you love or hate it, this oneiric journey to the depths of human consciousness deserves to be experienced at least once in your life. It’s quite redundant to call a Tarkovsky’s film “otherworldly” but I have no other words to describe Stalker because it, without question, doesn’t belong in this world .
