Films I like that are set in the city and not much happens but the characters are fascinating

- usually arty types
- there's often multiple scenes where characters eat dinner or drink coffee or something
- plot is usually at a minimum, but not always. Casual, hang-out vibes are preferred
- often a lot of walking around the city in question (almost always New York, it seems)
- sometimes the characters we follow could be described as "bad" people

these are just the ones I really like. there's an obvious connection to my love of mumblecore and very low-budget indies, but a lot of those aren't set in big cities in the same way.
