Kurosawa’s review published on Letterboxd:
Alternately epic and intimate but thoroughly riveting and harrowing. Visually stunning if perhaps a tad clunky in my opinion when first establishing the non-linear editing timeline. Though this clears up and the editing style becomes a very clever choice which I think enhances the on-screen experience, in the the end.
It’s visually exquisite and excruciating though not as brutally gruesome as Saving Private Ryan.
Brilliantly realized as a cinematic event.
